this case fits my backflip very well and is secure. It fits close enough that a leather case i have in my desk will carry it install very nicely. the only complaint i have it that it has no screen protection, although the similar case i bought from AT&T did and it all but disabled the touch screen. very secure and doesn't block any phone functions or controls!

Inexpensive alternative
I bought the $30 case for my Backflip from AT&T when I got this phone, returned it 4 days later already breaking. So.This case, for a fraction of the price serves it's purpose. The bottom half is indeed equal in thickness to the expensive case from AT&T.The top half is missing a screen cover, but, that is what broke on the expensive case, and I prefer a ZAGG skin any day. The exposed parts are lightly "rubberized", and after 2 months is still fine. There are small sections that wrap around to hug the 2 phone pieces, those are painted and wearing off already, that took away the 5th star.Overall, yes, this case is not heavy duty, but it protects edges and the exposed keys on the sides and bottom, and allows full access to everything needed, and come on, it's...

Would purchase again and again
I purchased this for my motorola i1. A phone that drains a battery like crazy and I always need to charge. After finding this car charger here on Amazon, I will NEVER purchase another one anywhere else. I pay one eighth for this charger here than the price that the phone carrier store charges for the same exact thing and thats including shipping! When I have purchased car chargers from somewhere like a department store, like the one that has the smiley face for one of their logos, the chargers from that store have somehow broke, even when the box that they come in says lifetime warranty. Which is rather a pain in the butt for me because when you purchase one from those department stores like that and they break, you have to mail the defective product back and wait to get it replaced. I have had THIS charger for a LONG time now and it has NOT broke yet! All the ones I have purchased elsewhere broke rather quickly. Exactly What I Was Looking For
I use this in my 2003 Honda Accord with an iphone 3GS. Mounting onto the Accord's center AC outlet was very easy to do. My iphone is wrapped in a Defender case which makes it rather heavy and bulky, but fits right in very snugly. When I make selections on the iphone's touch screen I have to make very positive contact to get through the Defender lens, but this holder is up to the task. It stays planted very securely. The iphone charge cord fits easily between the bottom support feet. The mounted phone is easily adjusted for viewing angle and landscape via a ball socket that can be loosened/retightened. I doubt there is any cell phone that this thing couldn't hold securely. I'm thrilled with this purchase. Top to learn more

Fine product with some room for improvement.
Well designed and engineered, surprisingly decent quality, especially for the price.Installation and removal instructions should be illustrated though. The product illustrations aren't consistent in how they show the spring clip orientation (should it be up or down, or does it depend on the vent design?) let alone show how the clips should be attached to the vent. Easy removal should be a selling point of a vent mount but there is no mention of how to remove the clips from the vent. If the vent louvers are narrow and deep, like mine are, removal is tricky. Each spring must be compressed while lifting the clip up and out. With narrow louvers it requires small fingertips, and probably removing the cradle from the clip assembly so you can see what you're doing.Design is not ideal for MyTouch 4G, or similar HTC smart phones. Life Saver
My battery overheated so I was trying to find a new one for a cheaper price, and though still a bit too expensive for my taste, I'm glad it works and now my backflip is back to normal.Never keep your phone under a pillow. This does fit the Motorola BackFlip, and does identically to the one that came with it. Which is very useful if you go several days (or one heavy day) away from the charger.Tip: In settings, battery manager, changing to "Smart" mode from the default Performance mode will make the power last a LOT longer, and you won't notice any difference.
