Great phone. Hardware home keys concerns.
Had the phone for over a year now. Everyone said it was too big at 4.3 inches. But now large seems to be more beautiful. My concern is with the physical home keys. The menu, home, back and search keys are all physical. They are going to wear out before my contract is up. Better to get sofware home keys in my opinion. The phone has hardly ever failed to install and run well the new apps in the market. Thus it is plenty powerful to keep up with the more demanding apps coming out for newer devices. For instance, Jan2012 I installed the new Monoply game from the market. There were many cautionary tales in the app comments about the game needing a powerful phone, etc.. But the DroidX came through and rendered the game very well. It compared favorably to the install and game operation on my new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.I recommend the phone. Just be easy on button use. Battery. Ahhh. Dont expect miracles. Normal use shoud be fine. I purchased extra 2 batteries...

Pretty decent android phone
I purchased the Droid X about 8 months ago to replace my old chocolate II. Overall I have been pretty happy with the phone. The sound quality and reception is not as good as my old phone, but is not bad. The phone has plenty of memory for apps and runs the well with occasional freezing or force closes. Sometimes the freezing seems random. There are a ton of great apps and games that are free. The phone comes with some useful apps, but does have some useless bloat ware that you cannot remove.Phone is easy to operate. The only thing negative that I have to say would be the sound volume and camera. The sound volume is not very loud and the speaker is not very clear. This isn't an issue with games, but not very convenient for listening to music or ringtones. Since ringtones are not loud, it can be tough to hear phone ring if there is any ambient noise around. My only other complaint is the camera is slow to open when trying to take quick pics and when leaving the settings on...

One of the best Android phones ever owned
This is my 4th android phone I've owned, previously I had the continuum, fascinate and droid incredible. By far the droid x stands in line next to the fascinate for my taste.I loved the UI on the fascinate is was fast, clean, easy and the super amoled mad it better. I was a bit worried the high resolution on the droid x would not look as great as the super amoled, but when i received this phone it turned out to be a decent display! A lot better then the incredible for sure the display on it is horrible outside and looks grainy.I really like how this phone feels in my hands as well, feels very sturdy and heavy which is what i like. A lot of android phones I've handled feel so cheap and plastic. The camera on this phone is awesome and the pictures and videos come out crisp and clear with the 8mpxl camera. the UI of the camera app is not my favorite but it gets the job done. I prefer the Samsung camera on the fascinate it was easy and fast to use. However i am still getting used the...

Love it more than the iPhone
I've owned my Droid X since it came out, and I simply love it. I can't imagine having a different phone. I feel it surpasses the iPhone in a few ways. For one, it has a bigger and sharper screen. If you're planning to play games, watch movies or shows, this is the phone for you. It might not seem like it's "that much" bigger, but it is and it makes a difference. The screen is sharp enough that I watch Netflix and HBO shows on my phone all the time (did I mention the WiFi is strong enough on the phone for this to be possible?). Also, a lot of people think they simply must have their music on their iPods. Once I got this phone, I sold my old iTouch. Are iPods better at handling music then the Droid X? Yes. But is it a significant upgrade? No, not at all. The music quality is the exact same, so the only difference is the interface. It's very easy to get the music from your computer onto the phone as well, simply a drag and drop process. Having owned the phone for almost a year and half,...

Best decision I ever made
I purchased this phone 14 months ago, and still feel it was the best decision I could have made. I absolutely love the camera. The 8 megapixels means that I have clear, high quality pictures that I can use for digital scrapbooking, printing, and sharing with friends and family. I love that my video and still camera is always at my fingertips. In addition, I use this phone for hours every day to check email, text, play games, wake up in the morning, play music, listen to digital books, and find out how to get where I'm going. Oh, and sometimes I even make calls with it! It's pretty great for that too! I also like that the touch screen keyboard has good sized buttons. I rarely have typos, but have been known to have some auto-correct fails from time to time. The only thing I don't like about this phone is that I have to have two sets of music libraries, one on Amazon, and one on ITunes. Ah well, nothing is perfect.

Great Buy!
This Droid X was a fantastic find! I bought it for my wife, and she loves it. Can't get it out of her hand! It looks brand new, and the best part is that all the downloaded songs from the previous owner are still on the phone. Probably a couple hundred dollars in downloads!Great vendor, great service, timely delivery, A+ purchase.

Very Smooth (not sticky) feel, resists fingerprints, a hair long in length
I bought a set of these despite some of the negative reviews. They were cheap enough that why not. The install is difficult, but not more then any other screen protector. To begin with, I am just about to order another set because I screwed up the install on all 3 of these. But, notice I am about to order another set. Now, I don't know if other reviewers didn't get the same product that I did, but there are 2 protective plastic covers to each screen protector. each had a tab that states when to remove. This is the same as most other screen protectors. So, you are not trying to peel of the sticker, which would leave residue, but the whole protective cover for the screen protector. So sticky residue...sounds like someone doesn't know what they are doing. Okay now for the install, and the problems. To start off, I am a perfectionist. The last one I installed is very, very good. There is just one small speck under it and so I want to replace it. Now that I have some fingerprints on the...

Great Product for the Price
Excellent product for the price. I was hesitant to buy it when I read the reviews, but I am very happy. The key to these screen protectors is to know how to apply them. The protectors have 3 layers each. The first layer (with the red tab) faces down and covers the "sticky" side of the protector that touches the screen. I say sticky for lack of a better word. The middle layer is the actual protector itself. The last layer (with the blue tab) is the top layer that you can use to press out bubbles without messing up the protector.Applying the protector is somewhat difficult if it is your first time. First, I turned off the phone as I pressed some buttons which turned the screen on. Second, I put on latex kitchen gloves and washed them off thoroughly. The screen protector will not stick to the latex, nor with the latex leave an oily fingerprint on the protector. Third, I wiped the screen down with a damp paper towel, then dried it off with another. Then I...

It shouldn't take 3 trys to get it right so I'll provide some tips
I read with interest how great this product was ONCE YOU TRIED 3 TIMES. Anyway, I knew I was smart and even after being warned I'd be on my own as there were no instructions I'd get the skin installed on the first try. But, just in case I ordered 3 3-packs. It was so inexpensive, why not? (hint: read all the way through before you give up and try sonmething else)My first puzzlement was the taped on "tabs". On one side the tab said "step one peel off this mask before application" and the one on the other side said to peel that one off after application. I thought it weird you had to peel off tabs taped on the skin. I thought maybe they were "handles". Anyway, after peeling off the first one, it left a sticky residue like you find peeling on price tags from Target. I put the skin on the phone and then peeled off the other one. I ended up soaking that one in WD-40 to clean all the sticky stuff off. It was a total mess, left air pockets and didn't stick. It slid right off the...

great item for Droid X
Love this dock. Since I cancelled my home phone service, this allows me to always have my Droid charged and ready to answer any incoming calls. Also love the way I can play music through it and having it interupt for the phone call. The only drawback is that the silicone sleeve which I ordered won't let the Droid sit in the cradle. So I have to keep putting the skin on/off all of the time. But it's a minor inconvience since the dock is so great. And price was excellent too.

I was pleasantly surprised with all it offers
I bought it thinking that it would be a good place to charge my Droid, but when I hooked it up I discovered that my phone automatically recognizes that it's in a multimedia station. I can completely configure it specifically for this device, and when I plug it in it changes into a true multimedia station. The clock comes up by default and I have programmable shortcut buttons to quickly access my stock prices, pod casts and stuff like that. The only problem I had with it is that it only allows you to have about 6 shortcuts (or less if you put a widget on it).

I really like this item! But..
This thing is really cool, and overall I think it's worth having. As soon as my phone touches it, it recognizes that it's in a multimedia station and switched to a clock. From there you can set it up as a digital picture frame or hook it to your TV. What I don't like about it, it that it is VERY difficult to get into the thing. It took me some practice to get the trick to it. I always worry that I'm going to break it or wear out the prongs.. BAD! It's also not so easy to get out of the thing, which wouldn't be so bad if I could just pick up a call from the docking station. When the phone rings, I can pick it up and put it on speaker phone, but the person on the other line has a hard time hearing me.. But, I like the other features enough to make it worth it..

Great Phone!
I've had this phone for a while now and it is FANTASTIC!I upgraded to it from a blackberry storm thinking it wouldn't be that different from one smart phone to another, but boy was I wrong!I love my Droid; there are SO many more wonderful apps available for it and it I love that it syncs everything with my gmail.I am NOT very good with phones (tend to beat up on them a lot) but I have NEVER had any problems with this one breaking or anything.

Great Platform, Stretched Hardware
I purchased this phone about a year ago and was initially ecstatic about the device's features as well as the intuitiveness of the Android platform itself. However, at the release of this device the Android platform was still growing and functioned in a much less advanced capacity than it currently does. Through several updates of core firmware, as well as various software updates to apps, the phone has become sluggish and often unresponsive.Long story short, the hardware hasn't kept up with the every-growing demands on the software front. The Android Marketplace offers a great breadth of content that is simply impractical to run on this outdated hardware. If you're looking to have a phone that keeps up with current technological trends, think twice before investing in this sucker. Also, battery life tends to become absolutely abysmal after the first 6-8 months or so, so definitely think about investing in some backup batteries.

Charging times using the Motorola SPN5504 Battery Charger
For those interested...The output rating of the Motorola SPN5504 Battery Charger (as of April 2011, no longer directly stocked by Motorola) is 850 MA (milliamperes) at 5.1 volts. The lithium-ion battery within the Motorola Droid 2 Global cellphone, Type BP6X, is rated at 1420 mAH (milliampere-hours, typical). So, if you were to use the cellphone, discharging it down to the 5 percent level (as indicated on the "Battery Management" screen of the cellphone), the time it would take to recharge the phone to 100 percent (fully charged state) would nominally be 95 minutes, calculated as follows:Recharge time = (Percent_discharged x Battery_capacity) / battery_charger rate, i.e., (0.95 x 1420) / 850 = 1.587 hours or 95 minutes.Similarly, charging rates for given percent battery discharges are:90% - 90 minutes80% - 80 minutes70% - 70 minutes60% - 60 minutes50% - 50 minutesThe above are "nominal" charging times...

Genuine Motorola Charger - Real Quality Power
This is an excellent USB charger, which delivers up to 950mAh power to your sensitive devices (In my case, a Motorola Droid 2). I have searched around the internet and have found a lot of issues people are experiencing with cheap chargers, especially newer smartphones. There are mixed results, but it seems that a "quality" charger is the safe way to go, as the generic chargers (including the cell phone company branded ones) can deliver "dirty" power. By dirty I mean it isn't a continuous flow of amps, with spikes or harmonic distortions. On most phones that have been made, this isn't a problem because the power is just filling the battery. But, with newer devices, they may experience malfunctions, and even damage/destroy your phone!I was prompted to buy another one of these chargers because my OEM one that came with the phone was used in my bedroom, and I was using a generic USB charger in the living room which was giving me difficulty. Whenever I plugged my phone into it,...

Awesome Deal for OEM Droid Charger
I purchased these from Bargain Cell for my Droid X. They are identical in every way including output ratings of 5.1v === 850mA. The part number for the cable is SKN5004A while the charger's is SPN5504A. These are exactly the same as what came in my Droid X box.As any Droid X owner knows, the Droid X gulps battery power and you can't have enough chargers. I also happen to have a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) case for my DX. Unfortunately, the thicker cable ports on my long micro USB cables do not insert flush inside the micro USB port of my DX. However, the Motorola OEM cable ends are very thin and therefore plug in more easily and stay plugged in. This is why I only sought out chargers and cables that were Motorola OEM.Keep in mind that the cable is short. This works well when charging from a counter top location but terrible if you're running the charger from the ground to the top of a desk. In that case, you can always use...
