Amazing smartphone
If you are looking for a non-apple smartphone, this is it.Primary function, being a phone, is outstanding. The phone has a good reception and you are able to have clear conversations even in noisy environments like games or construction sites.Additionally, it is full of features with out of the box google integration. The screen is amazing and very responsive. Gps, camera and wi-fi works as expected. The full qwerty slider keyboard works great, however keys are too flat. Form factor is adequate. The phone is slim and not so heavy.Despite of the bugs mentioned in several forums, I haven't found any. The piece I got came already with the Android 2.1 update and works straightforward.It deserve a "well done" for the engineers at Motorola.

Great phone
This thing cost way too much, but it is a great phone. Every thing works, the keyboard is nice (except the keys are a little too flat), the screen, the camera, everything works well.I Have had two problems though - First I bought this phone to use with T-mobile, but it doesn't operate at the frequency T-mobile uses for their 3G service. Second, after the last upgrade it has randomly started playing music. It is a known bug with some work-arounds, but it is very annoying.So, with all the new variants coming out, I'd say look for something newer on contract first. But if there is a price drop (as stock and demand drop) this is a very capable choice.

Indespensable
I have a limited amount of cargo space in my bag. I seriously do not want to waste money and real estate on 15 different gadgets.Criteria:PHONE. I want to be heard and to be able to hear. Droid: Brilliantly does this. anyplace anytime, anywhere. I have not had a call dropped or lost, but I have had a little issue with face dialing.GOOGLE VOICE: Transcribes all my voice mail and sends it to my phone. from the house phone, from the cell phone, all redirects to one location. SWEET. and for the hearing impaired, I can read it and hear it at the same time. it is fairly accurate with people that articulate well, it is hit and miss for people that talk like they have a mouthful of cheerios.RINGTONES: any song I have on any album I can rip to MP3 and make it a ringtone. a FULL SONG ringtone, not just 20 seconds that repeats. very nice.CONTACT LIST: I want to manage this on my computer with a NORMAL keyboard and access to GOOGLE,...

GOOD phone, that has the potential to be GREAT!!!
I got this phone via one day shipping Nov 5th. I just got back from the post office from mailing it back to Amazon (Nov 9). During my FULL three days of ownership I must say that the phone is indeed a very nice phone. I will list some pro's and con's I found for the phone...Pro's:-Android 2.1 (Eclair) Pretty decent (this is listed in my con's as well)-8GB micro sd card (I did not get around to using this as I have my 16gb card from my other phone.)-Nice bright screen. Also it is rumored that it is made with gorilla glass (so it will be hard to scratch up.)-Sound quality from music and phone calls are nice, although the music volume could stand a tad bit improvement.-When navigating through the phone to find things there is little to no lagging.-Apps are easy to install from market. (Must have internet connection to access it).-Camera and Video Recording qualities are decent...

Great, Almost Excellent
I've been a dedicated Nokia owner for about the past 5 years and 3 handsets, back then I knew that there was nothing that could compete with my N series devices and my predecessor the great E71 due to unmatched hardware and excellent S60 OS. But as time passed, I wanted more from my phone.So after seeing all the fuss in the smart phone market, the two on top were Android and iOS. I never liked Apple as a company but was always inspired by the Innovative Google so I knew that an Android would be my next phone. (Nokia is still lagging behind with an intuitive and innovate phone OS)Since i don't live in the US, it is impossible for me to go to a neighborhood T-mobile or AT&T and get a brand new phone for free. Good Android and Bad Motorola!
I have purchased this phone a month back and it took the international logistic arrangements almost 2 weeks to let me use this beauty. I am from India and got it from amazon.com as it was available at 100 USD cheaper cost than what is market rate here. From last two weeks I am completely hooked to the phone and has used almost all the features and installed tons of software from android market place. Before buying a phone I knew that the phone is having Android 2.1 and the version has few issues which google has promised that they will clear them in the next release i.e. 2.2. But After buying a phone, before it comes to me, motorola has published a model wise schedule of android up-gradation. To my utmost surprise, they have denied the upgrade for the XT720 and ruthlessly stated that there will be no upgrade for the device. I will suggest anybody buying this phone to be informed about motorola's upgrade schedule and check their requirements. The phone is a real good piece of hardware...

Perfection
This multimedia device is truly one for the books. I believe it really rivals, if not tops off the Apple i Phone 3.0G s. It has amazing features and the size and screen quality are impeccable. The built in memory (16GB) accompanied by the expandable micro SD slot is also a great feature. This phone solves the need for having a digital camera, video camera, MP3 player, cellular device,portable messenger, portable web browser and video viewing device. All those components of the device are top of the line and not lackluster as compared to many other smart phones.

Motorola Droid...not perfect, but a large step in the right direction
I had many friends that owned iPhones...but i hate AT&T as did most of my friends with iphones agree :) I purchased the A855 as soon as it was availible. I was trying to decide betweent the A855 and the HTC touch pro 2(I had the htc mogul XV6700 before). End of the day, i picked up the A855 for the android operation system. The android operating system is so easy to use. I was tired of having to constantly reset my mogul. The windows mobile phones are not as customizable unless you go through the process of unlocking the phone...which I did on my Mogul. But unlockign the phone is a hastle.PROSScreen resolutionAndroid MarketGreat Verizon network(data and voice clarity)No problems with pairing with bluetooth devices(had issues with the XV6700)CONSKeyboard is barely raised up at all! Great phone!!!
I didn't buy this phone on amazon I bought it from the local verizon store. This is one of the best phone on earth! It run google android 2.0 which is open source so, this thing has endless possibilities! You can run multipliable apps at the same time, has a excellent GPS, 5 mp cam, a real keyboard and has around 10,000 - 20,000 apps so you will find something for you. I was even able to tether it for free(I didn't even need to root it!) Way better then the Iphone. The only phone I have seen that I though was better is the nexus one ;)No geek should be caught dead without one!

amazing phone, but price is a little bit high
I like this phone very much. But since Milestone 3 is released, I think MS2's price should get down. Well it is a good stuff, I have it for a month and everything is fine. I root it, put in a lot of apps and it works great! The only thing is the battery. It cannot afford a whole day if I play games on it. But I think that's all the Android phone's problem. And there is one thing I really feel strange that when it warns me that "connect your phone to the charger. The battery is low", I only charge it maybe no more than one hour and a half and it is full-charged. But the batery is fine, I still can use it for a the time as usual. Anyway, MS2 is a good phone!
