There's even an included application, MotoMixer, that lets you mix your own ringtones. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear while voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the RAZR V3 including a voice memo recorder, a calculator with currency converter, a calendar and an alarm clock. Use the phone's Bluetooth capability to set up a wireless link with a Bluetooth accessory or connect to a computer or hand-held device to exchange and synchronize data. The RAZR V3 also supports custom graphics for wallpapers so you can dress up the phone to suit your fancy.

Operating the RAZR Battery Door
The RAZR V3's battery cover is designed to have a very tight fit with the phone case. You may need to use your fingernail or a very thin instrument to depress the small battery cover release button. When replacing the cover, make sure the cover securely snaps into place before operating the phone.

Good
A replacement for my original Motorola Razr V3. I guess they don't make them like they used to. Not the same, quality-wise as my original, but it'll do. Paint chip off easily, sure wished I had opted for the silver one, not black.

Meant for looks - and looks sharp
Lets get one thing straight - you will never buy this phone for its features, so why give it a bad review because of its lack of features? This phone is meant for one thing -- Style. And not one other phone in the market comes close to this phone in style - and the sales of this phone prove it.The signal strength on this phone is very good. In elevators where I didnt get signal with other phones, this phone picks up enough signal to carry the conversation through without any of those "didnt hear you - can you repeat that?". I really havent seen another GSM phone with signal quality as strong as this one, which is funny because this phone's antenna doesnt even stick out (internal antenna). Bluetooth audio is clear - I have verified this with the Jabra BT200 and the Motorola HS820.Camera is good, but not as good as some other phones out there. Video is good, not as good as other phones out there. No memory card. Here's the bottom line - if you want a phone that...

Pretty in Pink
I am a cingular customer and was totally bummed when I found out that I couldn't get this awesome phone from my provider. A lot of people online have been questioning why someone would get a phone from here for so much money when you can get one from T mobile stores, but if you are not a T mobile customer you need an UNLOCKED version of the phone to use it. All I had to do was put my old sim card in it and it worked! I have not experienced any problems at all with my phone so far. It works great and it is beautiful. It works great as a phone and the camera and video opions are fun. It also comes with software and a cable that connects to your computer so you can transfer songs and pictures to you cell, which is awesome. You can take any song and make it your ringtone for free! I would like to say that a lot of people complain that this phone isn't a great camera, mp3 player, etc...but those things are just for fun extras. Buy a digital camera or an i pod if you want all that! If you...

Don't believe what you hear...
The RAZR is a very durable and reliable phone. Contrary to other reviews I have dropped my phone several times and it keeps on tickin'! My wife has the pink RAZR and I have the black RAZR and both of us are extremely pleased. This is by far the best phone on the market. It separates itself from all the other plastic and cheap phones.

Black (RAZR) is Beautiful
The Black RAZR V3 is the wireless phone I have always wanted. It's that simple. Before having bought mine, I would read commentary from people who would cite all of the features the RAZR doesn't have: "I could buy the (insert model number of cheaper, but still expensive phone which does 100 different things--all of them poorly) and get more for a lot less money." When I would research a model recommended by these self-proclaimed gadget freaks, I'd find that it's dimensions make keeping it in a pocket an awkward and uncomfortable proposition; I'd find that the pictures it takes are not nearly of comparable quality to those taken by even a modest digital camera; I'd find that the lo-res video it can shoot serves no practical purpose; I'd find that web-browsing, game-playing, Instant messaging, streaming television content, all suck up battery-life and ultimately make the device useless for the unlikely purpose of placing and taking phone calls; I'd find that the phone...

When the Motorola RAZR V3 was launched last year, I think most everybody, including Motorola itself, was quite surprised by how popular the handset turned out to be, considering the asking price. Its slim profile and sleek silver colored metal body proved to be just too much of a temptation for the world, and people the world over jumped through hoops and over hurdles just to get one for their very own. Everybody was a movie star with one of these!

Black is beautiful.

Until, of course, Motorola gave 50 exclusive RAZR V3 BLK handsets to some real movie stars at the 77th Annual Academy Awards in February, 2005. All of a sudden, the silver RAZR lost some of its shine. But once again, it is time for the masses to rejoice. Motorola is making the RAZR BLK available to all.

Of course it isn't just the color that makes the RAZR V3 BLK such a desirable handset. One reason that people love it so is its size. It weighs only 3.35oz (95g), which is pretty light for a phone that has a largely metal body. At 3.86" x 2.17" x .57" (98mm x 55mm x 14.5mm) in size, it is actually thinner than most candy bar style phones on the market. It can be slipped perfectly into a shirt, suit, or pants pocket, as well as a purse, without being noticed.

There is so much more to the RAZR V3 BLK than its physical being, though. Certainly the primary purpose of any phone must be making phone calls, and in spite of its small stature, the RAZR V3 BLK managed a full 7 hours of talk time in our tests - a very respectable showing. A related bonus is the fact that you can charge the RAZR V3 BLK directly from your computer's USB port with the same type of mini-USB cable that you probably already have for your digital camera. That's one less power adapter to pack in the suitcase. Support for all 4 GSM frequency bands means that the RAZR will work in San Francisco and New York just as well as it will in Paris and London. The handset's internal antenna also proved to be quite capable, offering up very good reception in weak signal areas.

Of course some compromises had to be made to get all of this functionality into such a small package. The keypad, for example, is a very thin metal unit that offers less tactile feedback than most, though it makes up for that somewhat by looking fantastic in the dark, thanks to its cool blue back light. While quite usable, it might take a bit of getting used to. No compromises were made with the main display, though: a nice 2.2" 65k color TFT unit, with 176 x 220 pixel resolution. The external display is also color, though only a 4k CSTN type.

The Motorola RAZR V3 BLK is thin and definitely in.

The built-in VGA camera proved itself to be one of the better ones on the market, offering good contrast, color, and focus in most situations. The RAZR's polyphonic sound system also works quite well, and even allows you to use MP3 files as ringtones. So if you have a few dollars to spare in your quest for looking like a movie star, Motorola has got just the thing you need. Luckily, the RAZR V3 BLK has the brains to back up the beauty.

Pros:

  • Thin
  • 7 hours of talk time
  • Quad-band GSM
  • Good antenna reception

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Unusual Keypad
  • Your friends will try to steal it

Decent reception + sound. Short Talk-Time. Lousy Camera.
I've been using a black RAZR for 3 months and here are my thoughts:THE GOOD========- FREE!! with a T-Mobile 1-year family plan- Better reception than my previous, 3 yr-old Nokia handset (6610)- Can use the same phone when travelling in Europe, Asia. Just need to get a pre-paid SIM chip locally.- Can be charged from laptop using included USB cable.- It's BLACK.THE OK======- Passable voice quality. (Maybe it's just because it's GSM technology, and coverage is not fantastic in outside of cities.)- Slim profile, though a little heavier than my previous handset- Nice colors in screen. Great ringtone sounds. Though these are pretty standard nowadays.- Decent bluetooth range. Paired this with a Jabra BT800 headset and I can run into the coin laundry with my ear piece and still connect with the phone in the car outside.THE...

Form over Function
Don't expect this phone to work any better than a Motorola V551. I wrongly thought with the price as high as it was that I'd have perfect reception and no dropped calls. Nothing has changed.Don't get me wrong, this matte black phone is slim and sexy and lightweight fun and easy to slip into a pocket. But those are it's biggest draws. Some other cons include:-The large square screen and key pad get dirty easily from holding the phone up to your face. I don't wear make-up, but if I did, I can imagine that I'd always be taking a toothpick to all of those little crevices between the keys on the flat keypad all the time. As it is now, I'm constantly wiping the screen and keys.-The battery life is not long and if you're going anywhere overnight, remember to bring your charger.-The operating system is the same as other newer model Motorola phones, so don't expect a big upgrade there either. If Cingular is your provider,...

Does What is Says it Will Do
The Generation X antenna booster DOES increase your reception and, in turn, should slightly increase battery charge life. I had three bars in the office, now I have four. I had to really search around online to find out where the antenna is in my phone. I knew placement was important to the effectiveness of the booster. FYI, the best place to put the booster in an Atrix 2 is just above (not on top of) the SIM card and pointing up. That is the area where the internal antenna is. It fits in that space well, though it does cover some bar codes and numbers. Maybe it would work even better if those bar code stickers were removed? This type of booster is very cheap and it does it's job when applied properly. Five stars from me because of the value. If you have a signal off and on, you need a cell antenna signal booster for your home, office, or car. Those cost at least $200. If you have a steady one bar signal get one of these first and see how it goes.

Helped a bit...
I've been getting 1 or 0 bars in my condo with my new DROID BIONIC, which was making my hotspot drop all the time. With the booster I'm able to get between 1 and 2 bars most of the time, with huge improvement in my hotspot drope rate. I'm ordering a second booster to see if it'll get me a third bar.

it kinda works
Well this product works in certain areas of my house, i have a motorola x2, and raises my bar up one. And i say that is still better than having no bars. i live 20 miles from the closest cell tower and dont give very good reception. My sister has some kind of htc, but it doesnt work for her. i guess it kinda depends what phone you have.

Buy this.
It's not rocket science... it works or it doesn't. The device works fine. My only "complaint" is that the cord is a bit short but that is of lesser concern considering the price. The short cord is the only reason it didn't get a 5 star rating. It's well worth the money.

Looking at past popular phones, going back to the days of Motorola Razr V3, the desire to own a “see–and-be-seen” phone was always there. Apparently, this is the reason for which HTC decided to shelve its plan to release phone with monstrous battery size, a la Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. The Razr and its derivatives went on to sell 130 million units over the course of four years. With the reported 12+ hours battery life of the HTC One X  (for moderate use), the company may have succeeded in hitting the sweet spot between a thin frame and reasonable battery life. Which one do you choose – a super thin phone or a bulkier one with better battery life. More precisely, customers consistently prefer buying thinner phones, even if the svelter profile implies a shorter battery life. Sure enough, the three HTC One phones that the Taiwanese plan to release this year all come with an attractively slim body.
