Best Camcorder
I absolutely love this camcorder! I searched for weeks and watched the price on several camcorders. This year we will be celebrating many important milestones in my family and I don't want the opportunity to watch them over and over again. The only "problems" that I've experienced stem from my inability to keep the camera pointed at the action, instead of the ground/floor. The microphone (sadly) picks up all of my commentary as I tape my sons' baseball games. Makes for a good laugh when we watch the playback. The picture quality is crystal clear. Buttons are good size so I don't accidentally hit anything that I'm not intending to. Couldn't be any easier to hook up the camcorder to my tv and watch the videos on a big screen. Now I just need to find a tripod.

This Rocks!
I needed a new video camera to take videos of my daughters dancing. WOW! I have to say this camera was PERFECT! I was nervous about what to get because I wanted something easy to use as I am not a huge 'techie'. This camera was ridiculously easy to use, light weight, fit perfectly in my hand, the quality of the video was wonderful and the zoom was outstanding. It was stage performance so I was concerned about the distance to the stage and the fact that the lighting would be an issue but it was not at all. After I was done, I plugged the camera right into the TV and viola, it was there. I will say two things that I did notice... 1) on a 44" HD TV the picture wasn't totally perfect, but on my 27" MAC it was great. 2) when you zoom in when there is low light it does take a second to focus properly, but it wasn't horrible. Also when I inserted the SDHC card right into my Mac the video played perfectly in Quicktime and uploaded fine. No additional softwear needed or anything. I highly...

I was looking for a full HD cam but under $250. I thought I hit the jackpot when I saw this for $299. Full HD, sub compact, excellent lens at f1.8, this was a dream com true! Then I woke up. The lowlight performance isn't that great. Even with super low light selected, and a 1.8 lemse. Best performance is dependent on how much light you have (duh!), but by early evening and with dusk light, you'd think you shot video with an iPhone. Switch grip is a bit fidly. In more Thames one occasion, the image stuck after switching which required me to turn the cam off, then on to gain back control. Once also, the autofocus had a hardtiime switching from a sunny to shady area while on telephoto. It tried several times, but after 30 sec, I had to do the on off routine to reset it. Not good for those instant priceless moments. Hasn't happened agin tho, so I'm Hopi g it's a fluke. On the plus side, it's one of the most comfortable cams to hold. I purchased the Samsung HMX-W200 camera to take better video than my cell phone of my 2yr old son. I needed something small, rugged, and quick to turn on so as not to miss anything, and light enough to carry in a pocket with me most of the time.So far this is a great little video camera. I took several video's with it, and they turned out great. A few things to note though. It uses a Micro SD, or Micro SDHC size card for storage, which you have to purchase separately. It will record 4 hours at 720 or 2 hours at 1080 on a 16GB card. One of the reviews I read on a marketing site said that you could adjust the frame rate, if you can, I have not found out how. The menu gives only 2 options 1080 and 720, both at 30fps. It only takes 1.5 seconds from when you press the power button, to being able to shoot video. When you plug the camera into your computer, it sets itself up as 2 drives, one with the data, and the other with the intelli-studio Light software. I found this to be very...

Almost Perfect Samsung Pocket Cam
VIDEO:The 1080p looks great. It also looked great on my 50in. HDTV. For the price this camcorder is well worth it. Everything Samsung claims about this camcorder is true. I have been using it for a month now. So far so good. However I have not even thought about putting it in water. But I have used it in the rain and it still worked great.PHOTOS:I only give the 4 stars because there is no timer for taking pictures. It's not a big deal when I'm shooting video. But I do like they way photos look on this thing. It requires the most steady hand in the world. I have used a tripod and it helps a little. I just wish I could set a timer to guarantee a still shot. The camera impressively utilizes all natural light. I understand the selling point for this camera is the 1080p video, but I don't always want to carry both my Canon EOS and my Samsung HMX when attending a public event.OVERALL:If you're in the market for a pocket camcorder go with this one...

Good but not great.
I purchased this Samsung HMX-W200 to use on our Caribbean cruise. I really like the waterproof feature and used it a lot. It takes pretty good pictures, but my Cannon PowerShot takes MUCH better pictures. As for the "Full HD" capabilities... this is where I was the most disappointed. In bright light with very little action, it does do a pretty good job at HD. However, if there is a lot of movement in the shot (like splashing water or when using in a moving vehicle or boat), the resolution is pretty poor. I wouldn't even call it HD, let alone 1080p as advertised. If it weren't for the waterproof feature, I would be looking to return it. But I will probably still get a good amount of use out of it since my family is involved in lots of activities in or near water. So in summary, I would have to say I'm pretty disappointed in this camera, but still find that it will serve a purpose.

Amazing at this price!
Just got this little thing of beauty tonight and I'm very very pleased. It completely blows my old-school camcorders away and is effectively 1/4 the cost in today's terms. Easy to use and full 1080p HD. Picture and sound quality look great on playback on my 51" plasma. File format works perfectly for playback on my PS3.What a great little device! Oh - and you can't hear the zoom as claimed by another reviewer - there must be something wrong with his unit.
