Great solution
UPDATED July 18 2010After living with it for several weeks, I wanted to add an update. Overall, the unit still works well. The volume control still poses the issue everyone complains about but I can live with it. There is one additional design issue that rears its ugly head. The clip is a bit annoying. Depending on the type of shirt you have, the unit may need to be clipped upside down, making the headphone cord somewhat shorter. I'm not sure what shirt this unit was designed for but a U.S. mens dress shirt, the button holes are on the left (wearing the shirt) so you'll need to clip the unit upside down forcing the headphone jack to your right side, making the cord shorter. Wearing a shirt having a chest pocket can solve this but a lot of my shirts don't have a chest pocket. A symmetrical mountable clip would make this a better product OR a maybe a longer headphone cord. I still like this product a lot. I use it every time when making calls at the office and when listening to... Top to learn more
A great buy: handy, portable and hassle free
The MW600 is a wireless Bluetooth unit with a built in display and FM receiver. The device looks and feels very light. It has a rubberized and a glossy black design, with an integrated display and clip, which secures the unit fairly well. The display is really great; it shows caller id, battery indicator and the sound track. When playing FM stations, it displayed the name of the station and name of the song. However, because the unit is so small (about the size of a AA battery, but much lighter), it was hard for me to hold the device without pressing any of the buttons inadvertently. After some practice I got used to it. The play/pause button is normal click button, but the volume control button is unlike I have seen before. It is essentially a slider; you slide you fingers to increase or decrease the volume. It took me a while to get used to its response, but after some use, I adjusted well. Though I think, if you have large/stodgy fingers, physically handling this unit could be a... Top to learn more

If you're SERIOUSLY considering these, READ THIS REVIEW. 2+ Year Experience.
I purchased these Bluetooth headphones on 02/17/09. After passing the 2 year mark I think it's probably a good idea to write a review.Day One: Tossed the wire clip and case in my junk drawer. Don't need either and the case just makes more unnecessary work. Never in 2 years have I ever had an issue with them falling out of my ears. Simply run the wire BEHIND your head and pull the slack even on either side and you're good to go. I spend 10-14 hours at the gym each week including mixed running/weight training and have never had a fitment/wearability issue. The case is a bit of a drag and is more for show. I usually toss them in the small compartment of my gym bag as-is. THESE HEADPHONES ARE DURABLE. I would repeat that but you get the picture. I have read a few reviews of people breaking them, pulling the internals out when charging etc. and I'm sure they must be treating them like $20 headphones and not a $100 set. I paid $140 new and have treated them as such. The driver...

People shouldn't rate these headphone with bad review just because the Iphone 3GS Bluetooth suck
I see alot of 1 star review by users who found out that Apple Iphone 3G and 3GS poorly and only partially implemented a true bluetooth headphone solution. These buds work great with 99% of all other phones out there with correct bluetooth profile. Blame Apple, not Sony. Sony has done a great job in creating the best looking bluetooth headphones that's chic and portable with great sound. If you're going to whine, go rate down the Iphone to one star, these headphones deserves 4 to 5.

Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800: Best Bluetooth Currently Available
While I do not usually write reviews, I thought I'd write one up on these headsets as it has taken me quite some time & research to find a pair that get it right. While not perfect, the price/performance ratio is spot on, and you really do get a decent set of headphones for around $150.No reviews noted my highest performance test, shielding the headset from outside RF/other interference. I commute daily in NYC, and while walking the City, especially through Times Square, my Motorola Bluetooth headset was unacceptable for use. Just listening to music was impossible, as they were very prone to interference and would cut-out. That, and they never fit just right, and would slide down my neck a bit. They are now on eBay :-).These Sony-Ericssons? Perfect. Not one dropout or any interference during the entire 10 minute walk from the Port Authority. For this alone they are worth the cost of admission.I pair them with a Blackberry 8830, and switching between...

Not Perfect but Some Cause for Celebration
NOTE: Addenda from August 15th and September 1 at the bottom of this page. The Sony Ericsson MW600s are not perfect, certainly not a panacea, but they function well in multiple roles; offering a stereo bluetooth headset that allows the option of using high-end headphones for improved sound quality and isolation. I voted for them with my own money and, so far, I would be more than happy to buy them again. Before going on to talk about the real, solid reasons for liking them, it is necessary to get other people's reasons for disliking them out of the way. The MW600 has characteristics that some who have reviewed it have called problems. The following things are true about the MW600:1. It is not made of solid titanium.2. It doesn't fit a keyboard's worth of controls onto a two-inch cylinder.3. It offers only partial compatibility with Apple products.4. It is not so simple to set up that a monkey in boxing gloves could do it... Top to learn more

Bluetooth profiles: A2DP (stereo music streaming), AVRC (remote control of music player on your phone)

Tech Talk: Bluetooth Audio Streaming Bluetooth technology uses low-powered, low-frequency radio transmission to link together two devices to exchange voice and audio as well as data such as contact info from your phonebook and photos sent to a printer. The key to unlocking the veritable Swiss Army Knife of wireless functionality is to make sure your cell phone or device includes the right Bluetooth "profiles," as not every phone has the same profiles.
For streaming stereo music from your phone to a pair of headphones, make sure it has the A2DP (or Advanced Audio Distribution) profile embedded within its specfications. To take advantage of the remote controls on this headphone, the cell phone should also have the AVRCP (Audio Video Control) profile.
This pair of headphones uses Bluetooth version 2.0, which provides faster throughput and less of a chance of buffering. To achieve these speeds, your cell phone must also have Bluetooth 2.0, but these headphones are still compatible with cell phones with Bluetooth version 1.2. Top to learn more
Better than the alternatives
I am using the DS970 with a SE K790a phone and so far it has been great. For comparison purposes I used a set of Sony MDR-NC11 to compare earbud sound/noise cancelling qualities and SE HPM-82's for remote/handsfree functionality. Using those two leaves you with almost 8 feet of wires and three modules to contend with, the DS970 got rid of that. The volume is louder with the DS970 vs NC11, although the noise cancellation is not as effective. It still however blocks out the majority of ambient noise, and works well in NYC subways. SQ wise is on par with the NC11's though don't expect audiophilic quality (remember it was made for noisy environments). The silent hissing is not as pronounced as it is with the NC11's. For remote functionality, plusses are the backlit display and positioning of the controls (somewhat similar to the stick remotes found with Sony's MD walkmans). Unfortunately it does not have a clip and dangles freely. The mic isn't very good compared to the HPM, most callers... Top to learn more

Wow! Best bluetooth headphones I have ever owned. BEWARE OF THE PAPER TAG.
I ordered these headphones with the expectation of using them to listen to music while at work on my HTC Touch Pro. I have owned a couple bluetooth headphones in the past, which usually are somewhat bulky in size due to the built in bluetooth receiver and battery, usually making me look like a distant relative to Frankenstein. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the size and quality of these earbuds. Each earbud is about 1 inch in length, the silver portion of the earbud is unexpectedly made of metal, as is the microphone section. After charging the headset I put them on a test run, pairing the device to my phone was painless, and the sound quality was much better than I expected for a bluetooth headset. I am overall very happy with my purchase. However, there were some small pieces of information I feel others may find interesting:-You must use your device to adjust the volume to the headset.-Your phone must support AVRCP, A2DP, HSP, and... Amazing
When I first heard about this headset I thought Wow they are really small. I was looking for some external box to support the Bluetooth but your seeing pretty much everything that is included in the package, and pretty nice carrying case not shown. All of the tech is stored in the ear buds and charging is done on one side of the ear plug. A very small plug for ac adapter to plug in and charge the headset. Some reviews I had seen from other sites posted that the headset gets warm after extended use. In my case it doesn't but I have not been using the headset beyond 3 hours of use. The feeling in the ears is a little heavy then normal. Guys with larger canals will not notice much but those with smaller canals would find them a little uncomfortable. One of the strange things about Bluetooth and plugged ear phones of course is fidelity of the sound and when you wear these Sony headset sealed in your ears you get some pretty decent sound not the typical high end fidelity you expect from... pretty good!
Don't throw away your other bluetooth device just yet. While this is a nice unit it doesn't last long as described by the products manufacturer (2.5 hrs). Other bluetooth devices usually last about 6.5 hrs of talk time. Standby time is good and comparable to other units. Music sounds great; however, the distance one can put between the device and the phone is not comparable to regular bluetooth devices. For that reason, this device gets 4/5 stars. Top to learn more

Perfect for connecting your iPod to your home music system + product details
If you're looking for info on how well this works with headsets, I'm sorry to say that I don't own a BT headset (yet). This review focuses on the transmitter in conjunction with a Sony BT receiver that I use to connect my iPod to my home receiver, since that was the primary reason that I got one of these. Tiny Dynamo
If you've tried another Bluetooth transmitter for your iPod, you may be stunned at just how small this one is (see my product picture relative to coins). As others have said, it pairs very easily and since it draws power from the iPod, it doesn't require charging. Some additional notes:The size of the button is very convenient for any size fingers (many units feature extremely small buttons). The unit fits securely in the iPod and does not break connection if you shake the iPod, and I mean SHAKE it. Great even for robust exercise. The power it draws from the iPod is minimal, having only a negligible effect on the battery charge. In this configuration, it outlasts the charge of my The sound quality is excellent. My previous Bluetooth transmitter was... Top to learn more

Works with iPhone
This Bluetooth adapter does work with the iPhone in spite of the message you get when you plug it in. The message states that it doesn't and asks you if you want to switch to airplane mode. Just answer no and continue. The key to getting it to work is to start whichever application you are using to play before you plug in the adapter. My only problem is that occasionally if I'm moving with the iPhone on my belt, the sound will "cut out" for a second. Top to learn more
